On one of our recent Kingdom Mandate calls…
There was one thing we talked about that’s really stuck with me ever since.
It’s this idea that “Faith is nothing without work.”
Let me explain…
If we’re given a garden but we don’t work the garden…
It’s only gonna get full of weeds!
Or say you invested in Digital Storefronts and breezed through all the trainings…
You’re never gonna have a real business unless you put those trainings to work!
This applies to our faith too:
You can read scripture and memorize them word for word…
But if you’re not actually applying them to your day to day life…
Then what good is all that scripture really doing you?
See, we all deal with what I like to call “head trash”… and it’s why most of us never take much action.
We know we need to tend to the garden…
But we get all wrapped up in telling ourselves junk like…
“I don’t have the time today”
“I’ll wait till the weather’s nicer”
“I don’t want my neighbors see me”
“My back kinda hurts today”
And on and on that list of “reasons” goes.
But here’s the thing:
If you want to have success in whatever area of life you want to improve…
Whether that’s your relationship with God or with your family…
Maybe it’s your business or one of your hobbies…
The first step is owning up to the fact that it’s on us to put in the work!
So instead of saying…
“My garden is overgrown with weeds because the weather’s been bad…”
We need to start saying things like…
“My garden is overgrown with weeds because I haven’t tended to it!”
And look, there’s no shame in admitting these kinds of things.
We all get sidetracked, and we all go through ups and downs in life.
No one’s perfect.. And even I still have to fight off my “head trash” more often than I’d like to admit.
So here’s my challenge for you today…
What head trash are you dealing with right now… and are you fighting back?
I won’t lie, it’s an almost constant battle. It can be tiring.
But when the option on the other side is to live like a victim?
I know which battle I’d rather fight.
